New research shows that women who breastfeed are not receiving adequate advice as to the possible effects of medication. Research released by Dr Lisa Amir of Mother and Child Health Research, La Trobe University, found women are making the decision to not breastfeed, even when it is the best interest of the child, fearing that medication they are taking could harm the baby. In a recently published paper, Amir said the problem is with health professionals.
