Cancer ‘healer’ slapped with ban

A self-proclaimed healer making claims about remedies that would "cure" cancer has received another ban by Victorian health authorities.

Health Complaints Commissioner Karen Cusack has banned Dennis Wayne Jensen of North Warrandyte from importing, making or compounding any product or substance that is claimed can cure cancer or any other serious illness.

Her investigation found Jensen last year supplied a female cancer patient alternative remedies, claiming he would cure her cancer, including laetrile or B17, a substance that can be found in the seeds of some fruit.

He was also said to have encouraged her to stop evidence-based medical treatment.

Jensen had already received a permanent ban last August from providing any general health service, after using controversial black salve treatment on an ovarian cancer patient.
