Staff shortages strain regional hospital

Peaks have called on the government to address severe staffing shortages in a state hospital after a nurse was allegedly stabbed by a patient during a busy emergency shift.

I feel sorry for the actual nurses working at current moment, however I also have to say that I don’t feel sorry for the health system or the management team, as I have applied for jobs in the NSW health system over 7 times and have been knocked back every time. I have over 18 years experience as a RN, I just don’t know why this occurs. If I keep getting knocked back I’m starting to wonder if there arr actually any jobs available and is the health system staff shortage as low as it says.
