Fast Acting Surgical Grade Disinfection with Bactol® 90

In April 2023, Whiteley expanded their Bactol® range to include Bactol® 90. Bactol® 90% alcohol surgical hand rub is a new fast-acting antiseptic hand rub suitable for surgical-grade disinfection.
Surgical Site Infections (SSIs) is one of the most common complications associated with surgery. In Australia, infection of the surgical site occurs in approximately 3% of surgical procedures. Every patient who undergoes surgery is at risk of acquiring an infection. As well as causing unnecessary patient distress, the consequences of these infections include longer hospital stays, slower patient recovery, more complex and costly treatment and in some cases death.
For the hospital or surgery, itself, SSI’s can cause reputational damage as well as millions of dollars of lost productivity. Bactol® 90 Surgical Hand Rub is already being adopted by many surgeons as the new pre-surgical hand preparation technique due to the product’s effectiveness, shorter process times and quality feel on skin. Bactol® 90 is the ideal antiseptic hand rub for all surgical-grade hand disinfection purposes. The Bactol® family of products are the core drivers for Whiteley’s new HTP (Human Therapeutics Plant) plant investment. A $20+ Million-dollar GMP facility is under construction in the Hunter Region.
