Govt. to fast-track foreign nurses into Australian workforce

The Albanese government has announced a new scheme for the removal of red tape to allow a record number of overseas-trained nurses to enter the Australian workforce faster.

  1. What an absolute joke! Highly trained…..yeah right! How about the federal government actually speak to Australian trained nurses who work on the floor and ask if these ‘Highly trained nurses ‘ can actually write a progress note that makes sense i.e. correct English using conjunctions, or they can do a verbal handover in a manner that is clearly understood by the receiving nurse. Or that Australian patients can understand what their nurse is saying to them. I don’t feel that these ‘Highly trained nurses ‘ are actually to Australian standards, a bit like using Chinese made steel instead of BHP Australian steel! So far as the nurses coming in via New Zealand, come on, it’s a joke. Australia always had high standards in everything we did, now even with access to Australian universities the standard has dropped for entry, let alone what is actually being taught. So disappointing 😞
